D.C. Pedestrian is an application that aggregates the information you want to know for walking in D.C. It covers where and how to go, as well as problems that might be in the way – it has real-time maps of crimes and of road construction, and a map of streets without sidewalks. It gives facts on pedestrian accidents and deaths, the most hazardous intersections, and D.C.’s goal of improving pedestrian safety through the new Master Pedestrian Plan. This application is designed for the general public, and uses simple text and image cues for those with limited English proficiency.  It also gives facts on the health, cost, and environmental gains of choosing walking over driving,
to encourage more walking in D.C.
